SONDER

Sonder is a term coined by graphic designer John Koenig in his blog project “A Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows”: The realization that each random passerby is living a life as vivid and complex as your own.

The series studies the relationships between people in an urban setting, exploring the human condition, and studying how these subjective states may emotionally contrast or compare with objects also found in the streets.

The images are separated into three “chapters” within a Japanese-bound accordion book, each thoughtfully set into a sequence.
